Jill Hertzendorf MD
Jill Hertzendorf has 17 years of experience in Emergency Medicine, with a special interest in Women’s Health issues, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. She has been involved in the start up and Medical Director of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner programs at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and currently at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, Ohio.
Jill Hertzendorf is a dynamic speaker and has lectured on Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Strangulation to physicians, nurses and law enforcement.She is a valued leader and mentor in the area of forensic healthcare.
Jill received her Bachelor of Science from State University of New York in Albany, New York, and her Doctor of Medicine from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She has Board Certification in Emergency Medicine and Forensic Medicine, and certifications in ACLS, PALS and ATLS. |

R. Joseph Parrott BBA. M.Div. Ordained Minister
Joseph Parrott received a BBA from Eastern Kentucky University in 1970, and a Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1976. For the next 23 years he worked for a major pharmaceutical company, including 17 years as a division sales manager. This all changed when a family member became the victim of a brutal attack of violence. His family’s journey through this traumatic event was life-changing. Joe retired from his senior position with the pharmaceutical company, and became an ordained minister. He is now a staff chaplain at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He ministers to the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, family, and staff in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department with a passion to help families as they face the trauma of violence. |

Marianne Hemmeter JD
Marianne is an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Delaware County, Ohio where she currently prosecutes all types of felony offenses, including felony domestic violence cases, felonious assaults, child endangering, murder and aggravated murder. She has provided trainings for both law enforcement and forensic nurses on the importance of their roles in crimes of violence. She has taught healthcare professionals on the medical hearsay exception and their role in the courtroom. Marianne Hemmeter received a BA in History from Trinity College in Washington D.C. in 1994, and a JD from Ohio State University College of Law in 1997. |

Detective Dana R. Farbacher
Detective Dana R. Farbacher is an eighteen (18) year veteran of the City of Columbus, Division of Police. He has worked in the homicide squad for the past thirteen (13) years and has been the lead detective in approximately fifty (50) homicide investigations. He was one of the original members of the Critical Incident Response Team which investigates all officer involved shootings for the City of Columbus.
Detective Farbacher became a hostage negotiator in 1999 and he became the team leader for the City’s hostage negotiation team in 2003. As a negotiator, he has been involved in approximately one hundred twenty (120) situations involving hostage takers, barricaded individuals, and persons threatening to commit suicide. While these critical incidents are negotiated as a team, Detective Farbacher has been the primary negotiator in approximately twenty-four (24) of these situations.
Detective Farbacher has taught within his department, including instructing new recruits at the academy, providing in-service training to all city police officers, and organizing and training new detectives in the police department’s detective bureau. He has also taught hostage negotiation classes at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy, and instructs new employees at Netcare Corpration. As part of his duties with the hostage negotiation team, he takes part in the Midwest Crisis Negotiator Conference, which is hosted annually by the Columbus Division of Police Hostage Negotiation team and the FBI.
Prior to his employment with the City of Columbus, Division of Police, Detective Farbacher spent four (4) years in the United States Army where he earned his paratrooper wings and Ranger tab. Further, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Slippery Rock University, and attended law school at Capital University. He resides in Madison County with his wife and two children. |
